Chester Jones III is a talented American actor, screenwriter, playwright, author, director, film and television producer, and model. He has had an extensive career in feature films, television series, and Broadway and Off-Broadway plays.
Growing up in Racine, Wisconsin, Chester was exposed to the world of entertainment by his parents, both educators who loved classic films and good music. They introduced him to various forms of entertainment, which eventually became his passion.
In 2003, Chester moved to New York City and began working on commercials, small theater productions, and supporting roles on primetime and daytime television. He quickly gained recognition for his versatility and ability to take on last-minute changes or unexpected situations with ease.
Chester's transition into feature films began with several supporting roles, showcasing his acting range. He landed the lead role in Chris Jun's "The Main Character" in 2004, which received critical acclaim and earned him a nomination for Best Dramatic Actor at the 2005 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival.
In 2005, Chester wrote, produced, directed, and starred in his first short film, "Mine: A Possession Parable," which became a finalist in the San Francisco Black Film Festival competition. He also wrote, produced, directed, and starred in his first feature film, "Hey Diddle Diddle," in 2007, which required him to gain 45 pounds to play the lead character.
Chester's performance in "Hey Diddle Diddle" was widely praised, and the film was an Audience Award finalist in the 2009 Hollywood Black Film Festival and a 2009 Voice Award Nominee. He later reformatted the feature film into a 9-part mini-series for broadcast television, which was distributed internationally.
Chester has continued to work in television, winning the "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama" award at the 2014 LA WebFest for his work in the popular web series, Parallels. He is also the Founder and CEO of The Dream Network (Dream TV),a national multicultural television broadcast network that is currently being broadcast to 32 million households.
In addition to his work in television, Chester has been recognized for his writing. His screenplay for "Harlem Heat" won "Best Screenplay" at the Newark International Film Festival in 2017. He is currently authoring a graphic novel and developing a television series for STARZ.
