Chord Overstreet was born in Nashville, Tennessee, to Julie Miller, a talented makeup artist, and Paul Overstreet, a renowned country musician and songwriter, whose own father was a respected pastor. This musical family of seven children, including Chord and his five siblings, was raised in a creative and music-filled environment, with their father actively involved in the music industry. His brother, Nash Overstreet, is a member of the popular band Hot Chelle Rae.
After graduating from high school in 2007, Chord decided to pursue a career in performing, encouraged by his supportive parents and fueled by his natural talents in singing, acting, and playing instruments. Unfortunately, the first two to three years after high school were marked by limited success, with Chord making only small guest appearances on various television shows, such as Carlys and Private.
However, in early 2010, Chord received a call from his manager, urging him to audition for an open casting call for the FOX television series Glee. Following several callbacks and audition performances, Chord landed the role of quarterback turned glee club member, Sam Evans, on the hit show. Since his debut performance on the season premiere of the 2nd season of Glee, Chord has received widespread critical and commercial acclaim for his performance, as well as a large and dedicated fan base.
