Chris Anderson was born and raised in the charming coastal town of Whitby, situated in the picturesque county of North Yorkshire. His mother, a dedicated nurse, worked at the local hospital, while his father, a skilled baker, brought joy to the community with his delicious creations. As a teenager, Chris attended the prestigious National Youth Theatre, where he honed his acting skills and developed a passion for the performing arts.
He then went on to study acting at the renowned Manchester School of Theatre in 2001, laying the foundation for a successful career in the entertainment industry. Chris's diverse performing background includes a wide range of plays at The National Theatre, as well as numerous radio dramas for the BBC, 15 international commercials, and roles in award-winning short films.
Chris is also well-known for his television work, particularly for his role as The Chorister in The Doctor Who Episode 'The Rings of Akhaten', opposite Matt Smith and Emilia Jones. He has also had the opportunity to work on various voiceover projects, including national advertising campaigns for Sky, Jaguar, VW, and Trivago, as well as video games such as Total War: Warhammer II and Arena.
In addition to his acting and voiceover work, Chris has narrated documentaries for The History Channel and Channel 5, and has dubbed countless foreign language films and TV series for Amazon. He has also been a DJ since the late 1990s, with a number of professional residencies in London, guest spots in Ibiza, and a seven-month residency in Mumbai, India.
When he's not performing or behind the decks, Chris enjoys exploring the great outdoors. He is an avid hiker and mountaineer, having trekked Kilimanjaro, Toubkal, and The Chemin De La Liberte in The Pyrenees. He has also climbed many mixed routes in The Alps and is currently training to climb The Matterhorn as of 2025.
In his free time, Chris also enjoys fishing, both fly and coarse, and is a passionate football fan.
