Christopher Sean McCann Nickin, a multifaceted individual, was born on December 9, 1982, in Royal Oak, Michigan. Growing up in Livonia, Michigan, he attended and graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School in 2001.
During his time at Madonna University, Christopher pursued his passion for film, earning his way onto the set of Fraternity House (2008) as an Assistant to the Executive Producers and Key Set Production Assistant. His dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed, and he was soon entrusted with directing his first feature-length film, the drama Win By Fall.
Christopher's desire to explore different genres led him to direct a slapstick sports comedy and the true story Mary's Buttons (2011),set in 1910. In addition to his feature films, Christopher has directed over a dozen short films, music videos, a talk show, local sporting events, and a sitcom.
Throughout his career, Christopher has been driven by his love for film, citing classics such as Stand By Me (1986),Red Dawn (1984),Breakfast Club (1985),Footloose (1984),and Dead Poets Society (1989) as his inspirations. He believes that filmmaking is not just about special effects, but about crafting characters, relationships, and stories that evoke emotion and connection with the audience. According to Christopher, "Anyone can blow things up on screen, not everyone can make you connect to characters."
