Christian was inspired to pursue his passion for storytelling after reading Robert Rodriguez's Rebel without a Crew during his time at San Diego State University (SDSU). Without formal training, he taught himself the craft and went on to make his first feature film in 2006, which was released domestically on video-on-demand (VOD) and DVD everywhere. Since then, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the independent action film space, known for his genre-bending storytelling.
Following a string of low-budget features, Sesma made a name for himself with Vigilante Diaries, which premiered at the San Diego Comic Con and was acquired by HBO as their first under-a-million-dollar action film in over a decade. He continued to gain recognition with the indie heist movie PayDirt, starring Luke Goss and Val Kilmer, and went on to produce two films during the pandemic lockdown.
The action thriller Take Back, featuring Mickey Rourke and Michael Jai White, and the drama Every Last One of Them, starring Academy Award winner Richard Dreyfuss, Taryn Manning, and Jake Weber, were both released during this period. Sesma reunited with Richard Dreyfuss on the thriller Abandonment in 2021 and is set to release two action films in 2022, Section 8, starring Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Dermot Mulroney, and Ryan Kwanton, and Lights Out, featuring Frank Grillo, Mekhi Phifer, Scott Adkins, and Jamie King.
As the head of Seskri Film Inc., a production company dedicated to creating mainstream stories and developing new projects for the Latin-X market across multiple genres, Sesma is committed to pushing the boundaries of storytelling and representation in the film industry.
