Christina Karis is a talented African-American film and television actress who hails from the small town of Clanton, Alabama, where she was born and raised. She has recently joined the cast of the NBC hit spinoff Law and Order: Organized Crime, where she plays the role of Dana Wheatly, the deceptively charming daughter of a mob boss, opposite the talented Dylan McDermott.
Throughout her career, Christina has had the privilege of sharing the screen with some of the most renowned actors in the industry, including Don Cheadle, Ewan McGregor, Helen Hunt, and Paul Reiser, among others. Her impressive list of television credits includes This is Us, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Queen of the South, The Resident, and Queen Sugar, to name a few.
With over a decade of experience honing her craft, Christina has obtained both a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Theatre Arts and Acting, respectively. She draws inspiration from some of the most talented actresses in the industry, including Dorothy Dandridge, Elenora Duse, Viola Davis, Nicole Kidman, Denzel Washington, and Meryl Streep.
Christina's ultimate goal is to achieve a level of artistry where the "self" disappears, and she becomes a humble servant of the art. She believes that acting is a gift from God, and she hopes to use her talents to give back to the world. A devout Christian, Christina credits her faith and family as the greatest joys of her life.
