Christy Johnson is a triple threat in the film, stage, and music industries. She was signed to Marilyn's Model and Talent Agency at six months old and began her career in print modeling and pageants. She became Miss Greensboro and landed her first leading role in community theatre in sixth grade.
Johnson studied musical theatre through high school and college, earning her MA and BA from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. The UNCG Alumni Association honored her with the Young Alumni Award for her accomplishments. She has performed in several professional musical theatre productions and is now focused on film, television, commercials, and music videos.
Her notable film roles include "Dottie" in Tobe Hooper's Mortuary, "Faith" in The Gospel According to Booze, Bullets & Hot Pink Jesus, Act III: Have Faith, Will Travel, "Loraine" in Orbs: They Are Among Us, and "Lucifer/Pride" in Hatchet County. Upcoming releases include "Night of the Living Dead: Genesis", "Beneath the Old Dark House", and "Ghost Trek".
Johnson is also an accomplished athlete, earning National gold medals in Karate, Quad Speed Skating, and Inline Speed Skating. She started practicing martial arts at age three and earned her second-degree black belt. She was a State Games gold medalist for five consecutive years and a gold medalist at the National Karate Junior Olympics.
As a competitive speed skater, Johnson is an eight-time National Quad Speed Skating gold medalist and a National Inline Speed Skating Champion. She hopes to incorporate her athletic abilities into her acting, particularly in action films and strong characters with movement abilities.
Johnson's experience as a vocalist began at age two, when she memorized commercial jingles and sang along. She began choral training in fifth grade and was a member of her school's top auditioned ensemble/show choir in eighth grade. She later sang with the Gold Madrigals at Grimsley High School and performed at Carnegie Hall and on two international tours in Europe.
Johnson is the lead vocalist of the melodic hard rock band Dreamkiller, which has been recognized with numerous awards, including Los Angeles Music Awards National Female Vocal Performer of The Year and International Music & Entertainment Awards Rock Female Vocalist of The Year. Music from Dreamkiller has been featured in over 15 films, many of which have been released worldwide and have won numerous awards.
Johnson's solo music is unveiling a compelling level of depth to her songwriting and vocal ability, reflected in her latest accolade from the Producer's Choice Honors as "Outstanding Female Singer Songwriter" for the Las Vegas F.A.M.E. Awards. Her debut releases include "Shadows of My Soul", "The Devil's Den", "Fuel The Sun", and "One Day at a Time".
