Chuck Mitchell was born on November 28, 1927, in Connecticut, a state known for its rich history and picturesque landscapes. This tall, imposing figure, standing at an impressive 6'3", with a deep voice and rugged demeanor, often found himself cast in roles that showcased his ability to portray hostile and despicable characters. Mitchell's impressive performance as Porky, a mean, sleazy, and hateful brothel owner, in the raunchy comedy "Porky's" (1981) and its equally amusing sequel "Porky's Revenge" (1985),left a lasting impression on audiences.
He also delivered a memorable performance as Sam Gluckman, a slimy smut peddler, in the psycho exploitation gem "Don't Answer the Phone!" (1980),and as Rocko, a sloppy restaurant owner, in the hilarious "Better Off Dead" (1985). Mitchell's talent for playing complex characters didn't go unnoticed, as he landed a recurring role as Big Ralph on the popular daytime soap opera "General Hospital" (1963).
In addition to his work on television, Mitchell made guest appearances on various shows, including "Hill Street Blues" (1981),"Remington Steele" (1982),"The Fall Guy" (1981),and "Bret Maverick" (1981). When he wasn't acting, Mitchell showcased his skills as a singer and stand-up comedian. Unfortunately, Chuck Mitchell's life was cut short when he passed away on July 22, 1992, in Hollywood, California, due to liver cirrhosis.
