Clara Lago was born on March 6, 1990, in Madrid, Spain, to a family with a strong creative background. Her father, a graphic designer, and her mother, a writer, instilled in her a passion for the arts from a young age.
One of her father's friends, a television producer, encouraged her to try her hand at acting. With her youthful energy and natural charm, Clara easily passed the audition and began her acting career at the tender age of eight. Her first role was in the television series "Partners" in 1998, followed by "Hospital Central" in 2000 and "Terca vida" in 2000, where she voiced another actress.
Clara made her cinematic debut in 2002, starring in the film "El viaje de Carol" alongside Spanish director Imanol Uribe. Her performance earned her a Goya award for Best Actress. She continued to work in film and television, appearing in "La vida que te espera" (2004),"Arena en los bolsillos" (2006),"El club de los suicidas" (2007),and "The Hanged Man" (2008).
In the same period, Clara starred in the popular Spanish television series "Clara, el papel" and "Lex," a crime drama. Her breakthrough role came in 2011 with the psychological thriller "The Hidden Face," where she played the lead role of Belem, a womanizer's girlfriend who decides to teach him a lesson.
The film received critical acclaim, and Clara's performance earned her numerous rave reviews. She also showcased her singing talents, recording two songs for the film's soundtrack: "La Cama" and "Aunque tú no lo sepas." In 2012, Clara appeared in the psychological fiction drama "The End," where she played the role of Eve, one of the last surviving people on Earth.
Clara's latest work is the family comedy "Spanish Affair" (2014),which broke all records for Spanish films, grossing $77 million. She plays one of the two main roles, Amaya from the Basque Country. In her free time, Clara enjoys dancing and regularly attends a dance studio, with a particular interest in Pilates. She is also the face of several brands, including Hoss Intropia and Color, and has participated in promotional photo shoots and videos for companies like InStyle, YoDona, Telva, and Elle.
