Biography:
Born on March 19, 1957, in Novi Ligure, Piedmont, Italy, this talented individual's family soon relocated to Milan. He was admitted to the Actor's School of the Piccolo teatro in Milan in 1979, where he spent three years honing his craft. His early career involved performing on stage during movie screenings, classical and modern drama, and eventually, his movie career took off.
He met director Gabriele Salvatores and began a fruitful collaboration, performing as a comedian at the "Derby" club in Milan. In the late 80s, he worked with Nobel winner Dario Fo and the renowned "Zelig" club, marking the beginning of his TV career.
In 1991, he landed a role in the Academy Award-winning film "Mediterraneo" directed by Salvatores. The 1990s saw him continue working with Salvatores on films like "Puerto Escondido" and "Sud", while also establishing himself as a writer and singer. He brought the character Malaussène to life on stage, created by French writer Daniel Pennac.
His work at the "Zelig" club transformed into a popular TV show, introducing a plethora of talented comedians to the audience and becoming a cultural phenomenon in Italy. He lent his voice to Sid in "The Ice Age" and became well-known for his characters in TV commercials.
In addition to his entertainment career, he has hosted the "Primo Maggio" concert, an annual rock concert organized by Italian workers' unions to celebrate workers. His distinctive features, including his baldness and humorous face, have made him a target for his colleagues, but have also contributed to his growing popularity.
