Cody Derr, born on October 5th, 1989, in the charming town of Keedysville, Maryland, had an early inclination towards the world of entertainment. From kindergarten to college, he would often dance and perform comedic sketches for his classmates, showcasing his innate flair for the dramatic.
As he grew older, Cody's passion for acting only intensified, leading him to enroll in Shepherd University in 2008 under the guidance of renowned acting coaches, including Ed Herendeen. During his time at the university, Cody had the opportunity to hone his craft, taking on the lead role in the production of "Dark Play or Stories for Boys." This pivotal experience not only allowed him to showcase his acting prowess but also taught him the importance of method acting.
However, Cody's decision to pursue a career in acting was not without its challenges. In a bold move, he chose to drop out of college to focus on his acting aspirations. This bold decision led him to participate in a national modeling and acting competition held in New York City during the summer of 2010.
After the competition, Cody made the life-changing decision to relocate to New York City, a city that would become his new home. His determination and perseverance paid off, as he quickly landed his first union acting experience in a film directed by the acclaimed David Chase. This breakthrough led to Cody obtaining an impressive five Screen Actors Guild vouchers within a span of just two weeks.
