Conrad Albinus Nervig was a renowned American film editor, whose illustrious career spanned an impressive 81 film credits. Born on June 24, 1889, in Grant County, South Dakota, Nervig's entry into the film industry dates back to 1922, when he joined the esteemed Goldwyn Pictures. Following the merger of Goldwyn Pictures with Metro Pictures and Louis B. Mayer's Metro Pictures, Nervig continued his work with the newly formed Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) in 1924. For the next three decades, Nervig remained a stalwart at MGM, dedicating his career to the craft of film editing. His remarkable tenure culminated in his retirement in 1954.

Throughout his illustrious career, Nervig achieved numerous accolades, including being the inaugural recipient of the Academy Award for Film Editing for his work on the 1934 film Eskimo. He also shared the Oscar for Best Film Editing with Ralph E. Winters for the 1950 film King Solomon's Mines. Furthermore, Nervig received an Academy Award nomination for his work on the 1935 film A Tale of Two Cities.
