During the formative years of their high school experience, a trio of aspiring filmmakers, comprising J. Stephen Peace and John DeBello, alongside the individual in question, embarked on a creative journey, crafting films in collaboration with one another. This nascent endeavor in filmmaking proved to be a fruitful one, as they garnered recognition and accolades in prestigious competitions.
In 1972, their cinematic endeavors earned them a respectable third-place finish in the esteemed Kodak Teenage Film Festival. Furthermore, their silent film, "Do They Accept Travelers Checks in Babusuland?", stood out as a standout entry, securing the top prize at the 1971 San Diego Film Festival. This early success story would later be commemorated with the inclusion of the film in the 25th anniversary DVD package, released in the year 2002.
