Craig Goodwill's narrative writing and directing career took off with his critically acclaimed debut feature, Patch Town, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and went on to have its international premiere at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Moscow International, and Shanghai International Film Festival's Panorama section, as well as the Fantasia Film Fest in Montreal.
The film, based on Goodwill's Directors Guild Award-winning short of the same name, was released theatrically and is now available on Netflix and various digital platforms, boasting an impressive 86% Tomatometer score.
Goodwill's second feature, COMPULSION, was recently completed and has been sold to KETCHUP/FOX Searchlight for domestic distribution and WTfilms in France for international distribution. The film, shot in Italy, is preparing for its 2017/2018 festival run.
His next project, Bitter, is set to begin production in Ireland during the winter of 2017. The film was written by Stephen Susco, known for his work on The Grudge, and is being produced by Taylor Hackford, who has worked on films such as Ray and Devil's Advocate, and Mike Macari, who has worked on The Ring.
Prior to his work as a narrative writer and director, Goodwill began his film career as a producer/director's assistant on films such as Good Will Hunting, 54, Driven, Superstar, Storm of the Century, and Loser, among many others.
He then went on to travel the world, directing and producing documentaries for National Geographic, CBC, and Alliance Atlantis in countries such as Haiti and India.
In addition to his work in film, Goodwill continues to shoot award-winning commercials for clients like Nike, Microsoft, Bank of America, and Nokia, among others.
