Biography

Craig Machen's early life was marked by a nomadic existence, with his upbringing split between Oklahoma and various locations along the southeastern coast of Florida and central Arizona. This peripatetic childhood would later influence his creative endeavors and provide a foundation for his future success.

Machen's entry into the entertainment industry was facilitated by a college job working for the Improv Comedy Clubs in Tempe and San Diego. This experience not only honed his comedic skills but also instilled in him a passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of what audiences find funny.

Upon graduating, Machen made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles, where he secured a position as a story analyst for several prominent studios and production companies, including Jim Henson Pictures. It was during this time that he received his first major break as a screenwriter, and his subsequent work caught the attention of The Jim Henson Company, which partnered with Columbia Pictures to purchase his first two screenplays.

Since then, Machen has written and/or sold a plethora of film and television projects to a diverse array of esteemed companies, including 20th Century Fox, Warner Brothers Television, Viacom, VH1, Tollin Robbins Entertainment, MTV Original Movies, Spelling Television, The WB, Red Hour Films, Montecito Pictures, and DreamWorks, to name a few.
