Todd Thompson, a retired American professional wrestler, enjoyed a storied career spanning from 1987 to 2005. His journey began in the National Wrestling Alliance in North Carolina, where he honed his skills before venturing to the World Wrestling Council in Puerto Rico, World Championship Wrestling, WWE, Stampede Wrestling, the North American Wrestling Association/South Atlantic Pro Wrestling, and the United States Wrestling Association.
In 1991, Thompson returned to World Championship Wrestling as Firebreaker Chip, part of the Patriots alongside Todd Champion, billed as "WCW Special Forces." Their gimmicks were that of a wrestling firefighter and a Gulf War Veteran, respectively. The Patriots achieved a notable victory, defeating the Fabulous Freebirds for the WCW United States Tag Team Titles on the September 7, 1991, episode of "WCW World Championship Wrestling."
However, their reign was short-lived, as the Southern Boys claimed the titles at a November 5, 1991, taping for the November 23, 1991, episode of "WCW Worldwide." Thompson left World Championship Wrestling in 1992 and went on to compete for various promotions, including the United States Wrestling Association, Smoky Mountain Wrestling, Canadian Rocky Mountain Wrestling, International Wrestling Cartel, the Confederate Wrestling Alliance, and others.
Throughout his in-ring career, Thompson accumulated numerous accolades, including being a two-time NWA World Tag Team Champion with Drake Dawson as Triple XXX, a former NWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champion with Drake Dawson, a former CWA Champion, and a former NWA PNW Tag Team Champion with Ricky Santana as U.S. Male.
After retiring from professional wrestling in 2005, Thompson found a new career with JetBlue, where he currently works.
