Dale Robinette, a multifaceted individual, is a still photographer, actor, playwright, and Guest Film Lecturer, boasting a rich and diverse background.
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, to a single young woman who was subsequently adopted by the Robinette family, Dale grew up in Ottumwa, Iowa, before his family relocated to Colorado, where he attended Englewood High School. His academic prowess earned him a football scholarship to the University of Colorado, where he majored in both the American Civil War and the Dramatic Arts.
In Boulder, Dale's passion for theatre led him to pursue further studies in New York City, where he had the privilege of training under the renowned Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse. His impressive acting credits include the title role in "The Kid" at the American Place Theatre, as well as notable performances in William Inge's revival of "Picnic" and Tennessee Williams' "Sweet Bird of Youth" at the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival.
In New York, Dale had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most esteemed fashion photographers, including Richard Avedon, Penn, Maureen Lambre', and Steve Horn, a renowned TV commercial director. He also enjoyed a stint under contract with NBC and CBS, working on daytime soap operas such as "The Doctors" and "Search for Tomorrow".
Despite the challenges of balancing his career and personal life between coasts, Dale eventually found his niche while driving from the East Coast to the West on a snowy December day in 1972, behind the wheel of a 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser convertible, with his companions – a small kitten, a Pekingese pup, and a cat – by his side.
Since then, Dale has made a living as a photographer, and his work has been marked by a sense of adventure and a passion for storytelling.
