Daljit DJ Parmar, a remarkable individual, grew up in a unique environment, surrounded by the family of the renowned Bollywood icon Mehmood Ali, with a childhood spent both in North America and India. This extraordinary upbringing, blending Western and Bollywood influences, granted Daljit a truly distinctive perspective.
As a graduate of the prestigious Vancouver Film School, Daljit mastered all aspects of film production, leveraging his expertise and connections to launch Original Entertainment, an entertainment company dedicated to fostering a cultural bridge between the West and the East.
Daljit pioneered a groundbreaking business model, purchasing official remake rights to Hollywood blockbusters and adapting them for the Bollywood audience. Notably, he acquired the rights to the RAMBO franchise, which is being remade with renowned Indian director Siddarth Anand and Indian superstar Tiger Shroff. The Indian remake of RAMBO is set to begin pre-production in 2023, with Reliance/JIO financing and a global theatrical release.
Prior to his work at Original Entertainment, Daljit was a leading international film producer focused on the China market. He executive produced the first China-Kazakhstan co-production film, COMPOSER, which premiered as the opening film at the Beijing International Film Festival in 2019 and was released in Chinese theaters.
Daljit also executive produced the first China-India co-production film, KUNG FU YOGA, starring Jackie Chan, which became one of the highest-grossing films in China and the highest-grossing co-production film in Chinese box office history in 2017, with a total box office of $244MM USD.
In his capacity as Producer, Daljit oversees a slate of high-profile co-production films and television projects at various stages of development.
