Dani is a passionate film enthusiast who delights in engaging in conversations about cinema. Despite being proficient in five languages, he believes that visual language is a universal means of communication. Born in Andalucia, a region steeped in rich cultural heritage, he currently divides his time between Los Angeles, India, and Spain.
As a renowned cinematographer, Dani has garnered numerous accolades for his work, including laurels from the European Cinematography Awards, HatchFest, New York Cinematography Awards, Asian Cinematography Awards, and Los Angeles Film Festival Awards, as well as three Indian National Academy Awards. His cinematic endeavors aim to create a reality where people can understand and connect with one another.
Dani's notable works include the critically acclaimed films Mahanati (The Great Actress),The Journey Within Coke Studio, and HEAL, as well as the upcoming Miseducation of Bindu, Duende, San Pacchattar (Year 75),and Virataparvam. His directorial and cinematographic skills have also been showcased in commercials and music videos for prominent brands such as T-Series, Samsung, Estrella Galicia, and Yash Raj Films.
Dani's documentary directorial debut, @buddhistandqueer: The Path from Sarees to Robes, marks a significant milestone in his career. He has also directed and shot several documentaries, showcasing his versatility and expertise.
Dani's educational background is impressive, with scholarships from La Caixa Fellowship allowing him to study Film and Visual Arts at Chapman University, Cornell University, and institutions in the UK and Spain. He has shared his knowledge and expertise through workshops at esteemed institutions such as FTII (Film and Television Institute of India),Chapman University, University of California Irvine, NYFA in the USA, Sanjan Institute in Lahore, and UCA's Film School in Spain.
In addition to his cinematic pursuits, Dani's work has been exhibited in museum spaces, featuring series such as #rituals, River of Ashes, Transmission, and Projections.
