Danica Curcic is a Danish actress born in Serbia, who graduated from the Danish National School of Theatre in 2012 and was promptly hired by the Royal Danish Theatre as part of its ensemble.
In her inaugural season, Curcic was cast in two prominent roles: the title role of Lulu in director Katrine Wiedemann's adaptation of Frank Wedekind's scandalous tragedy from 1894, for which she received a 'Reumert' nomination for Best Actress, and as the leading female in the musical performance Frankenstein Reborn, featuring some of Denmark's most renowned actors and musicians.
Before graduating, Curcic appeared in the TV2 crime series Those who Kill (2011) and secured her first feature role as Veronika in Munch-Petersen's thriller Over the Edge (2012). In 2013, she appeared in two highly acclaimed Swedish-produced TV series: The Bridge ll (SVT1) and Wallander lll (SVT1).
In 2014, Danica Curcic was appointed Shooting Star at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival for her role as the female lead in Christian E. Christiansen's feature On The Edge. She then starred as the female lead Kimmie in the highly anticipated The Absent One, the sequel to The Keeper of Lost Causes, opposite notable actors such as Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Pilou Asbæk, and Fares Fares. Additionally, she appeared in Oscar-winning director Bille August's new feature film Silent Heart, in which she had a leading role, as well as Hella Joof's comedy All Inclusive.
In the same year, Curcic will be featured in the feature film Lang Historie Kort directed by May El - Toukhy, in which she will play opposite Trine Dyrholm, and in director Daniel Dencik's new film The Gold Coast.
In the fall of 2014, Danica Curcic played the role of Juliet in Romeo and Juliet on the Royal Danish Theatre, receiving a very positive response. With her professionalism and great personality, Curcic has undoubtedly had her breakthrough in 2014 and has established herself as a respected actress in the Danish film industry.
