Writer/Director Daniel Millican embarked on a journey from Commercials and Music Videos to feature films in 2000. His inaugural film, "The Keyman: Finding Redemption", delved into the themes of regret and abandonment on the streets, as well as the devastating consequences of unforgiveness. The movie, starring Adam Baldwin, is being released worldwide by Artistview Entertainment out of LA.
Millican's sophomore project, "A Promise Kept", featured an all-star cast including Sean Patrick Flannery, Joey Lauren Adams, Jeff Speakman, and Mimi Rogers. The film posed the thought-provoking question, "Do we take justice into our own hands, even for the most noble causes"? The movie received strong worldwide sales and was released on video in the summer of 2004, with a television premiere on Lifetime Movie Network in January 2005.
Inspired by his own experiences in the corporate environment, Millican's next film, "Bloodlines", was born.
Millican grew up in Austin and earned his degree in Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington, where he also met his wife Jill at a campus Christian ministry. Before attending the university, Jill had graduated from a Bible College and had been a missionary.
Prior to pursuing a career in film, Millican worked in broadcasting and video/film production, both in small and large venues. He later became the General Manager for the facility, overseeing the direction of all major projects that came through. Throughout his career, Millican has won over 30 international awards for his writing, directing, editing, and producing of films, television, music videos, commercials, and corporate films.
This experience has led him to emulate the style of Robert Rodriguez, focusing on the technical aspects of filmmaking. Like Rodriguez, Millican writes, directs, produces, and edits his own features, and occasionally composes and performs the musical score.
In his personal life, Millican lives with his wife, two children, and their large Newfoundland dog. He is a self-proclaimed golf enthusiast and also enjoys computer games.
