Daniela Carvalho, a Brazilian director and assistant director with an extensive 18-year career in the film and television industry, hails from Salvador, Bahia. Throughout her illustrious career, she has had the privilege of collaborating with renowned Brazilian filmmakers, including Walter Salles, Fernando Meirelles, Hector Babenco, and Arnaldo Jabor.
Carvalho is most notably recognized for her work on the Netflix series Sintonia, where she initially served as a director assistant in the inaugural season. As the series progressed, she went on to direct episodes in subsequent seasons, while also actively contributing to the development of seasons 2, 3, 4, and 5. Her involvement in shaping the direction and storytelling of Sintonia played a pivotal role in the show's success, as it became one of Netflix's most-watched non-English language programs globally.
In addition to her work on Sintonia, Carvalho has also directed the feature film Deep Hatred, released in 2022. Furthermore, she has worked as an assistant director on major film productions, including Xingu in 2011, Pelé: Birth of a Legend in 2016, and Linha de Passe in 2008.
