Ariana Monet was born in West Hills, California, and began her acting career at the tender age of seven by performing in numerous television commercials. Her early start in the industry paved the way for her to land guest appearances on popular television shows, including an episode of Pacific Blue in 1997. This was followed by recurring roles on the television series American Dreams, The Bernie Mac Show, and 8 Simple Rules in 2003.
Monet's impressive acting skills and versatility soon caught the attention of casting directors, and she was cast as Megan Kleinman on the short-lived CBS sitcom Listen Up!, starring alongside the talented Jason Alexander.
