Darin Scott is a multifaceted American artist, born in Vernal, Utah, to a family of English, Scottish, and German descent. He spent the first 12 years of his life in Vancouver, Washington, before his family relocated to Utah.
Tragedy struck when Scott was just a teenager, as his father passed away suddenly due to a heart attack. As the youngest of five siblings, Scott was thrust into the role of the man of the house, taking on significant responsibilities at a young age.
Scott's passion for acting began on the school stage, but he was also an accomplished athlete, playing college football at Brigham Young University-Idaho and later finishing his BA at the University of Utah.
His football days led to his first acting role in the Disney film "Going To The Mat," alongside Khleo Thomas, and he went on to book another role in Disney's "Halloweentown High," working with Debbie Reynolds and Lucas Grabeel.
However, Scott faced a setback when he was passed over for the role of Wylie in Disney's "Buffalo Dreams" due to his age. He continued to take on independent film roles and eventually landed a lead role in Discovery Channel's "I Shouldn't Be Alive."
Despite his growing success in film, Scott decided to relocate to California to pursue a law degree, settling down with his young family. However, he was soon booked for a role in "127 Hours," working alongside James Franco.
Although the role was smaller than expected, it ultimately steered Scott away from law school. He enrolled at Playhouse West Acting School in North Hollywood, where he honed his craft and booked roles in several films, including the title role of Ephraim Hanks in "Ephraim's Rescue" and a younger version of John Heard in "Counting For Thunder."
Scott's law background proved useful when he landed a supporting role as a defense attorney in "Just Let Go," working opposite Henry Ian Cusick and Sam Sorbo. He continued his success with roles in "Yellowstone," opposite Josh Lucas, and "The Oath," his feature directorial debut, set to release in 2023.
In addition to his acting and directing work, Scott has also written and directed over 30 commercials and short films, including the third-highest crowdfunded short film on Kickstarter, "Reign of Judges: Title of Liberty."
