Darra Boyd, a New York native and Jersey City resident, is a driven entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in advertising and marketing. She has worked with prominent companies such as Merck & Co, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Abbott Laboratories, as well as renowned ad agencies TMP Worldwide and Foote, Cone & Belding. Darra also has a family business in real estate, making her a busy individual before being cast for the reality TV shows.
Darra took a chance on a career change and auditioned for season 2 of VH1's Flavor of Love. To her surprise, the casting managers loved her audition and offered her a spot on the show, which became a number-one rated show for the network. Her fame grew exponentially with articles in the Jersey Journal and interviews on the Wendy Williams Show and Tyra Banks Show.
She began her comedy career in 2007, performing on stand-up stages in NYC, including the Eastville Comedy Club, NY Comedy Club, and Broadway Comedy Club. From 2008-2009, she worked tirelessly to be featured on almost every NYC produced television show and feature film, receiving featured background roles on Law & Order, Law & Order SVU, and in feature films SALT, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, and The Adjustment Bureau.
Darra has also secured principle roles in two international films, which have helped secure her fame in Moscow, where they continue to show Season 2 of the Flavor of Love with her voice dubbed over in Russian. She continues to support every aspect of what she has started since leaving the corporate lifestyle.
Darra is the founder of Ajna Media & Marketing Group, Inc., a boutique marketing consulting firm in NYC, which boasts one of the best marketing consulting firms in the city. With her experience and personal touch, clients always remain satisfied.
As an actor, Darra is flourishing, currently cast in a short film about the relationship between two best friends and in negotiations with the producers of another international film. She has also been recently cast for the new animated series The Borderhounds.
