Darren Press is a multi-talented individual, serving as a Director, Writer, Producer, and Editor based in New York City. He is a founding partner of the production company A May Sky Picture Entertainment.
As a director and producer, Darren co-directed and produced the award-winning feature film "Theresa is a Mother," starring Edie McClurg, which premiered on Netflix in 2016 and is now available on Amazon.
Darren also co-produced, wrote, and directed the animated short "A Cow in the Sky," which had its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival. This film is based on a true story and features voiceover by Grammy nominee Aminé.
In addition to his work in film, Darren produced and edited the 2022 comedy "Too Many Buddhas," which premiered at the Montreal's Just For Laughs Comedy Festival and won the festival's top prize. This film stars Maria Bamford, known for her work on Netflix's "Lady Dynamite," and Maeve Press, who appears in Hulu's "Everything's Gonna be Okay."
Darren has also produced numerous Off-Broadway plays, including the critically acclaimed "Cobb" and the musical "Woody Guthrie's American Song," which have won Drama Desk awards.
In his role as an advertising creative director and content developer, Darren has developed campaigns for a variety of brands, including WBLS FM, Ace Hardware, Boogie Board, and Olympus America.
Furthermore, Darren is an Emerging Member of the Producers Union, a new organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for producers in the entertainment industry.
Throughout his career, Darren has demonstrated his versatility and range as a creative professional, working in both the film and theater industries and developing campaigns for a variety of brands.
