Dave Moody is a multifaceted artist, songwriter, producer, and filmmaker who has accumulated numerous industry awards and peer recognitions throughout his career. As a member of The Moody Brothers, he garnered two Grammy Award nominations in the 1980s, and spent most of the 1990s in Paris, France, working for The Walt Disney Company.
Upon his return to the United States in the new millennium, Dave released a solo album, which led to a string of over 20 Dove Award nominations and solidified his reputation as a respected industry professional. He went on to win multiple Dove Awards for his music and productions in 2005 and 2006, and in 2007, the Gospel Music Association recognized him as one of the most nominated artists, with eight Dove nominations, including a nod for his publishing company in the coveted Song of the Year category.
Dave also explored his passion for filmmaking, initially as a composer for the 2007 film Stuck in the Past, and later as a producer and co-producer for several feature films. In 2008, he produced Praise Band: The Movie, which earned numerous awards and launched Elevating Entertainment Motion Pictures, his faith-driven, family-focused production company.
The Moody family's second film, No Limit Kids: Much Ado About Middle School, was released in 2010 and featured a talented cast, including Bill Cobbs, Lee Meriwether, and Blake Michael. The film was distributed worldwide by Moving Pictures Film and Television, part of ICAP Media Group, and in the US and Canada by Bridgestone Multimedia Group. The story was later updated and re-released as Shakespeare School Year in 2018, starring Celeste Kellogg.
Dave's subsequent projects include producing and directing Rusty Whitener's award-winning novel and screenplay Season of Miracles, starring John Schneider, Grayson Russell, and Nancy Stafford, which was released in 2013 by Vivendi Entertainment. He also produced Silver Twins, written by Larry Silver, in Nashville in 2015, and inked a deal with Pure Flix to distribute the film and other titles in Elevating Entertainment's catalog.
In the summer of 2017, Dave launched a second brand, Downbeat Films, and produced the suspense thriller All Light Will End, co-produced with Red Vessel Entertainment, Music City Films, and Ghost Horse. The film features an ensemble cast, including Andy Buckley, John Schuck, Sarah Butler, Ted Welch, Katie Garfield, Aaron Munson, and Alexandra Harris.
Dave's other notable film projects include composing the soundtrack for the urban indie film Generational Curses, directing the Elf Sparkle animated film series featuring Rob Schneider, John de Lancie, Margaret O'Brien, and other Hollywood favorites, and the sequel to Season of Miracles, entitled Season of Mysteries, slated for release in 2018. Upcoming projects in development include Christmas on Repeat, Just 18 Summers, and No Time To Run.
