Biography

David Crabtree's illustrious career in the entertainment industry began at Roger Corman's New Horizons, where he started as an Assistant Editor and quickly rose through the ranks to become a Lead Editor.

He has had the privilege of editing over 100 hours of prime time television, including hit shows such as NYPD Blue, Las Vegas, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Outer Banks, and Psych, where he also served as Supervising Editor.

In addition to his work in television, David has also directed and edited numerous award-winning independent films. He has edited a total of 7 pilots that went on to become successful series.

In 2008, David made the bold move to transition to Director, and went on to helm several comedy shorts that were featured on the front page of FunnyorDie. His first feature film, "Broken Dreams", was produced and directed by him and was accepted into 16 film festivals internationally, garnering a total of eight awards, including "Best Feature Film" at The Other Venice Film Festival and the "Audience Award" at the Film Festival of Colorado.

David then segued into episodic television direction on Psych, and his body of work on the show includes fan favorites "Shawn 2.0" and Season 6 Finale "Santabarbaratown".

In 2013, he directed the short film "Gwyndor", which took home the "Audience Award for Best Dramedy" at the Hollyshorts Film Festival.

In 2016, David became a television producer on Rosewood for the FOX network, and also directed 3 episodes of the show. Since then, he has gone on to direct several more television episodes, including The Resident and All American.

Throughout his career, David has continued to hone his craft, generating new ideas to shoot and collaborating with talented actors and crew members. His extensive technical background has led to award-winning performances under his direction, including Nicole Gerth's three best supporting actress awards for "Broken Dreams".

David's passion for acting and directing has led him to study in master acting and directing classes at the Beverly Hills Playhouse and Workspace Hollywood under the mentorship of Howie Deutch.
