David Samuel Hilfstein, a talented New York-based actor, was born in Tallahassee, Florida, and has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry through his extensive work in television, film, and theater internationally. Recently, he has appeared in notable projects such as The Defenders (2017) alongside Finn Jones as 'Iron Fist' and The Dead Don't Die (2019) alongside Bill Murray, Adam Driver, and Tilda Swinton.
One of his most notable roles was as the morally compromised Congressman Brian Figarello in the dark comedy Legit (2016),which earned him multiple supporting actor nominations at various New York and New Jersey film festivals and received critical acclaim. A reviewer from Mich AIAFF praised his performance, stating, "Fabulously funny and frank."
In 2017, David was seen on the New York stage in the 24/6 theater production 'Looking Through Glass' at The Workshop Theater on 36th Street, where he received rave reviews for his role as the lead Jacob in playwright Ken Kaissar's re-imagined Yiddish classic, The Dybbuk. Born to a proud, rich Jewish heritage and home, David is of Jewish ancestry on both his mother's and father's sides. He is also the proud grandchild of Holocaust survivors.
