David Hughes, a renowned cinematographer and director, hailed from the picturesque Eastern Transvaal region of South Africa. His extensive and impressive portfolio is a testament to his exceptional talent, featuring the groundbreaking documentary series National Geographic Explorer, which debuted in 1985 and received widespread critical acclaim. Furthermore, his critically acclaimed films, Lions of the African Night, released in 1987, and Missing Link, which premiered in 1988, cemented his reputation as a master of his craft. Throughout his life, Hughes was deeply devoted to his loving and committed wife, Carol Hughes.
