David's journey in the entertainment industry began in 1974 as an actor in Kurt Russell-Disney Films, marking the start of his illustrious career. Prior to this, he had already gained experience as a junior professional surfer, eventually making the transition to the world of stunts.
Born and raised in Malibu, California, David's passion for stunts led him to become a stunt performer, and he quickly made a name for himself in the industry. His impressive skills and dedication earned him the promotion to Stunt Coordinator in 1978 for the film "Invasion of the Body Snatchers".
As his career continued to flourish, David went on to coordinate stunts for numerous TV and film productions around the world, eventually landing the role of 2nd Unit Director for the 1983 film "Gorky Park". This position allowed him to work closely with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Harrison Ford.
David's friendship with Ford led to him working on two notable 2nd units, "Patriot Games" (1992) and "Clear and Present Danger" (1994). He continued to work on various projects, eventually taking on the role of 1st Unit Director for the 1996 film "Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco". This marked his directorial debut, which went on to gross over $100 million at the box office.
In the following years, David completed two more features, "Desperate Measures" (1998) and "Sphere" (1998),which was directed by Barry Levinson. Throughout his career, David has demonstrated his versatility and talent as both a stunt coordinator and director, leaving a lasting impact on the entertainment industry.
