Born in Mexico City, a vibrant metropolis that would serve as the backdrop for a significant portion of his life and career. In 2005, he made a significant mark on the film industry with the production of his feature-length documentary, Toro Negro (Black Bull),which garnered numerous accolades and premiered at prestigious festivals such as San Sebastian, Toronto, Rotterdam, Havana, and Cannes.
As he continued to hone his craft, he ventured into the realm of fiction with his short film, A Solas (Alone),which premiered at the Morelia International Film Festival in 2009. This was followed by the creation of Héroes de carne y Hueso (Heroes of Flesh and Bones),an eight-episode historic TV series for Clio TV, the production company of distinguished historian Enrique Krauze, in 2010.
In 2012, he presented Oro, el día que todo cambió (Gold),a documentary film that chronicled the triumphant story of the Mexican national soccer team, who won the Olympic gold medal in 2012. This film would go on to become the most-watched sports documentary in Mexico, with an impressive 2.5 million views.
Fast forward to 2018, he premiered his directorial debut, Detrás de la Montaña (Beyond the Mountain),at the Shanghai International Film Festival. The script had previously been selected for the Sundance, Ibermedia, and IMCINE Script Lab in Oaxaca, and the film would go on to win the Press Award for Best Film at the Guadalajara International Film Festival in 2019, as well as the Best Film award at the Lleida International Film Festival. In 2020, it was featured in the We Are One Global Film Festival, where many critics hailed him as "a talent to watch."
Today, he resides in Mexico City, where he splits his time between filming advertising, TV documentaries, developing two TV series, and working on his next film project.
