David Maurice Robinson, born on August 6, 1965, is an American retired professional basketball player who spent his entire career playing center for the San Antonio Spurs in the National Basketball Association. Prior to his basketball career, Robinson served as an officer in the United States Navy, earning the nickname "The Admiral" based on his prior service.
