Biography

David Siu's journey in Hong Kong showbiz began in the late 1980s when he joined the 17th TVB acting class in 1987, alongside the renowned Aaron Kwok.

Siu's path to stardom was marked by good fortune and a smooth ride. In 1987, TVB held a talent contest to select actors, and with the support of his friends, he decided to participate and eventually won the championship. This victory led to an invitation from TVB to sign with the company, prompting him to leave his initial job to pursue an acting career.

Within a year of joining the entertainment industry, Siu's good looks and ideal height caught the attention of film producers, and TVB actively promoted him through leading roles in numerous TV series. Over the next five years, he appeared in approximately 20 series, including "Behind Silk Curtains," "The Tribulation of Life," "Mo Min Kap Sin Fung," "A Triad of Lifetime," "Three in a Crowd," "The Ruin Of War," "Impossible Dream," "The Enforcer's Experience," "A Time of Taste," "Land of Condor," "The Greed of Man," "The Link," and "Remembrance." His notable role was Ting How-hai in the 1992 TVB classic series "The Greed of Man."

In 1993, Siu played the character Sung Man Jeun in the famous TV series "The Link," portraying a wealthy and kind young man who falls in love with a rising movie star (played by Amy Kwok). The chemistry between him and Amy Kwok was exceptional, and they became a beloved on-screen couple. The success of this role boosted his popularity in both Hong Kong and Taiwan, leading to an invitation from a Taiwan broadcast television to star in the film "Days of Tomorrow."

However, in 1995, Siu decided to leave TVB due to a disagreement over his contract. He subsequently signed with Asia Television (ATV) for a short-term contract and appeared in several TV series, including "Justice Bao," "Coincidentally," and "Beggar King."

After a decade-long hiatus from the entertainment industry, Siu returned to Hong Kong in 2012 to resume his acting career. He began by reshooting the short film "A Wall-Less World III" for RTHK television. In 2014, he starred in the film "Dot to Dot," followed by "The Anniversary" in 2015, which reunited him with co-star Loletta Lee after 23 years.

In April 2015, the classic TV series "The Greed of Man" was re-aired on TVB, sparking a renewed interest in the film and Siu's career. His name once again became a hot topic in the media and among audiences.
