David Strickland was born on October 14, 1969, in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York, and grew up in Princeton, New Jersey, where he didn't initially consider a career in acting. However, after moving to Pacific Palisades, California, while in high school, he discovered his passion for acting and joined a theater company. Strickland began writing and performing comedy sketches with a friend and went on to participate in 64 student films to gain acting experience.
Throughout his career, Strickland accumulated an impressive list of stage credits, including Biloxi Blues, Bye Birdie, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, Pizza Man, and I Won't Dance. He also appeared in various television shows, such as Roseanne, Dave's World, Sister, Sister, and Mad About You, where he played a recurring role as Paul Reiser's backstabbing co-worker at the Explorer Channel.
When not acting, Strickland enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including golf, making fruit smoothies, and playing paddle-tennis. He is perhaps best remembered by TV fans for his co-starring role as Todd, the magazine's music critic, on the NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan, which starred Brooke Shields.
Before his untimely death, Strickland appeared in several notable films, including the independent dark comedy Delivered, directed by Guy Ferland, and the hit movie Forces of Nature, where he played the role of 'Steve'.
