David No's Early Life and Education
David Will No was born into a family of martial arts enthusiasts. His parents, Ke-Hyung No and Robin Marchment, were both skilled in various martial arts disciplines. His father, Ke-Hyung No, was instrumental in establishing taekwondo in Australia, while his mother, Robin Marchment, was the first female Australian black-belt.
David No's parents instilled in him a love for martial arts from a young age. He began training in taekwondo and Judo, representing Australia in both sports. His martial arts skills would later serve him well in his acting career.
No's Early Career
While studying physiotherapy at university, David No was approached to star in the short film The Huntsman (1993). The film's success led to him being cast in the action-comedy Mr. Nice Guy (1997) alongside Jackie Chan and Sammo Kam-Bo Hung.
No's involvement in the film industry continued despite completing his degree. He honed his acting skills at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney and the Ivana Chubbuck studios in Los Angeles.
Physical Ability and Martial Arts
No's physical ability and martial arts skills made him a sought-after actor in the action-comedy genre. He worked on several projects, including The Matrix Reloaded (2003),Enter the Matrix (2003),The Debt Collector, Cobra Kai, and many more.
No's martial arts background also led him to explore stunt work. He gained his Australian stunt qualifications and worked on various stunts, including body control, heights, fire, animals, water, and vehicles.
Furious Films and Producing
No founded Furious Films, his own production company, and began writing screenplays for other companies. Furious Films won the annual pitching competition at the Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA) and launched their projects at the Cannes Film Market.
No's knowledge of "Eastern vs Western" filmmaking led him to work with the Korean film industry. He acted, modeled for commercials, and later produced films, working with big names in the Korean industry.
