Davis's early life was marked by significant milestones, beginning with his birth in Atlanta, a city that would later serve as the backdrop for his formative years. His academic pursuits took him to Northwestern University, where he honed his skills and laid the foundation for a successful career in the performing arts. Following his time at Northwestern, Davis traveled to London, where he immersed himself in the city's vibrant theatre scene, landing his first professional acting job at the esteemed Royal Court.
As his talents and reputation grew, Davis made his way back to the United States, securing his Equity card at a dinner theatre near Chicago. This marked a significant turning point in his career, as it paved the way for his Broadway debut in "Butley" alongside the legendary Alan Bates. The years that followed were a whirlwind of regional theatre productions, including stints with the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Hartford Stage, The McCarter Theatre, The Shakespeare Theatre (D.C.),Berkshire Theatre Festival, Cleveland Playhouse, Syracuse Stage, Indiana Repertory Theatre, and Red Bull Theatre (NYC).
In 1979, Davis joined the British-American Repertory Company, embarking on a tour that took him to both the United Kingdom and the United States, where he had the opportunity to perform in productions of Tom Stoppard's plays. The following year, Davis's personal life took a significant turn when he met his future wife, Ingrid Price, a talented costume designer, while playing the title role in a production of Hamlet as a Guest Artist at Florida State University.
In addition to his work on stage, Davis has also explored his creative talents behind the camera, appearing in student films, TV shows, and feature films. When not acting, Davis can be found pursuing his passions as a photographer and filmmaker, a testament to his boundless energy and dedication to his craft.
