Next person biography:
Dean England started his career in the entertainment industry as a reporter for Q106, a successful FM station in North America and San Diego. He interviewed notable figures such as Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Oliver North, and Vice President Dan Quayle, as well as numerous celebrities.
During this time, Dean also made appearances as a reporter in TV shows such as "Renegade" with Lorenzo Lamas and "Silk Stalkings" with Rob Estes. Although tempted by the acting world, he remained focused on his reporting career.
Dean's desire to cross over into television news led him to leave his job and drive across the country, sleeping in his car and knocking on TV station doors in search of a reporting job. After facing rejection and defeat, he landed a weekend anchor job in South Texas and documented his journey with a video camera.
With a TV anchor/reporter demo tape in hand, Dean once again took a chance and hit the road, eventually landing a job as an anchor/reporter at a small independent station in Victorville, California. The highlight of his time there was meeting Roy Rogers.
Dean continued to take risks, moving to Los Angeles without a job and auditioning for a role as a Universal Studios tram tour guide. After several weeks and auditions, he was selected for the role and traded in his news anchor dialogue for a new set of lines.
For fun, Dean took on a role as a featured extra in the film "Naked Gun 33 1/3" with Leslie Nielsen, Priscilla Presley, and Anna Nicole Smith.
Dean's next opportunity came when he filled in as a temporary news writer for KCAL-TV in Los Angeles during the holiday season. He turned this into a full-time writer/producer position, producing news casts with Jane Velez-Mitchell and Pat Harvey for CNN. During this time, he also worked as a weekend reporter for the ABC affiliate KESQ-TV in Palm Springs.
A cross-over to E! Entertainment television news as a script supervisor followed, leading to a position as one of the head writers for the E! Entertainment Network. He worked on shows such as "Wild on" with Brooke Burke and "Live from the red carpet" with Joan Rivers.
In March 2012, Dean decided to return to acting, co-starring in short films, feature films, TV shows, and commercials. Behind the scenes, he continues to write and produce TV and movie projects.
