Debby Boone, a renowned American singer and actress, was born on September 22, 1956, in Hackensack, New Jersey. She is the third of four daughters born to the legendary singer Pat Boone and his wife Shirley Boone. Debby's musical career took off in 1977 when she released the chart-topping single "You Light Up My Life", which earned her a Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
Debby's success in the music industry continued throughout the 1980s, during which time she focused primarily on producing Contemporary Christian music albums. In addition to her music endeavors, she also made her acting debut in the 1984 TV movie "Sins of the Past".
