Dee Kelly Barrett, a talented individual, was born in the vibrant city of Cincinnati, Ohio, to loving parents Samuel and Barbara Kelly. She spent her formative years in the Silverton area of Cincinnati, where she developed a strong sense of community and foundation for her future endeavors.
Dee's academic pursuits took her to North Carolina A & T State University, where she earned a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Management. Following her graduation, she embarked on a 28-year career in both Corporate and County Government, during which time she demonstrated her exceptional skills and dedication to her work.
In 2006, Dee made the decision to sign with Katalyst, LLC, marking a significant milestone in her professional journey. This partnership allowed her to further hone her craft and explore new opportunities in the entertainment industry.
Fast-forward to 2010, Dee made the bold move to relocate to Los Angeles, where she had the privilege of studying under the esteemed guidance of Ivana Chubbuck. This experience proved to be a turning point in her career, as she began to work on a diverse range of films, including Get Low, The Crazies, The Blindside, Why Did I Get Married Too, Red, and Middle of Nowhere.
Dee's impressive filmography also includes her work on the true story documentary Crime After Crime, which tells the gripping tale of Deborah "Tripp" Peagler's story.
