Demetrius has had a prolific career in film and television, making his debut in the 1995 comedy film Friday alongside Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. He soon transitioned to leading roles in films such as 187, Soldier Boyz, and The Yard Sale.
In addition to his film work, Demetrius has also made a significant impact in television. He spent 11 seasons playing a leading role in the multi-Emmy Award-winning series ER, and also starred in the top-rated Telemundo sitcom Los Beltran. This made him the only Latino actor to appear on two number one shows simultaneously, each in a different language.
Throughout his career, Demetrius has received numerous award nominations and wins, including an ALMA Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor and a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance By An Ensemble In A Drama Series for his work on ER. He has also segued his career into producing and directing, with films including A Dog & Pony Show, which starred Ralph Macchio, Mae Whitman, and Academy Award winner Mira Sorvino.
Demetrius's latest film, A Nashville Wish, earned him the Broadway World Award for Best Director and stars country music legend Lee Greenwood. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and received a theatrical release.
