Denis Theriault, a talented individual, was born in the picturesque province of New Brunswick, Canada, where he first discovered his passion for the entertainment industry at a young age. At the tender age of 14, he landed his first significant television role as Jeb in the popular science fiction series, Starhunter, broadcasted by The Space Channel.
Since then, Denis has continued to appear in various film and television projects, solidifying his reputation as a skilled actor. He is perhaps most recognized for his role in the feature film, All the Wrong Reasons, which premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, alongside the late Cory Monteith. This performance earned him a nomination for the ACTRA Maritimes Award for Outstanding Male Performance. His extensive work can also be seen in films such as Growing Op, as well as television shows like CityTV/CW's Seed, Showcase's G-Spot, and HBO's Call Me Fitz. Moreover, his latest film, Across the Line, is the debut feature film of acclaimed music video director, Director X, in which he played the role of Todd, the main antagonist. This performance once again earned Denis an ACTRA Maritimes Award nomination for Outstanding Male Actor in a Supporting Role.
Following a 15-year career as an actor, Denis has been drawn to the various aspects of filmmaking, including direction. He wrote and directed his first short film, Sibling Rivalry, and his subsequent short film, I am Syd Stone, a deeply personal project, received widespread acclaim at over 30 film festivals worldwide. The film was nominated for the prestigious Iris Prize, the ACTRA Award for Best Male Performance, and won the Best Canadian Short Film award at the Silver Wave Film Festival. His third short film, The Gift Giver, had its world premiere at the Inside Out LGBT Film Festival, held at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. Denis is currently working on a web series adaptation of I am Syd Stone, which has been acquired by LevelFILM and is set to be released in 2021 on OutTV.
In addition to his work in film, Denis is now in the process of developing his first feature-length film, a dramatic thriller titled Boy Wonder, which promises to be an exciting new chapter in his already impressive career.
