Derek James Trapp was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on December 30th, 1992, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey in the film industry.
As a seasoned professional, Derek has been working in the industry since 2017, initially starting out as a background performer on the movie Siberia alongside Keanu Reeves. He has since expanded his expertise by joining three different film unions and establishing his own company, DJT CASTING.
Throughout his career, Derek has demonstrated versatility, exceling in various roles, including acting, crew member, production office, voice acting, narrating, and stunts. His impressive resume showcases his proficiency in numerous positions within the film industry, with a membership in the esteemed ACTRA, Directors Guild Of Canada, and IATSE 856 unions.
However, it was the arrival of his daughter Everley in November 2019 that brought about a profound shift in Derek's life. He welcomed the opportunity to take on the most significant role of his life as a father, and his dedication to his craft was reinvigorated.
In July 2022, Derek officially founded his own casting company, DJT CASTING, following his experience as the background casting director on the Crave TV series Little Bird. He is also represented by the prestigious talent agency Panache Management, where he continues to work as an actor and voice actor when not focused on casting.
Derek's ultimate goal is to continue building his reputation as an actor, voice actor, and casting director, while also growing his business, DJT CASTING.
