Desiree, a multifaceted individual with a passion for acting and philanthropy, has been actively involved in both fields for the past five years. Her charitable endeavors have spanned across various regions, including Atlanta and Cleveland, Ohio, where she has worked closely with Saving Our Cinderellas for the past two years. In addition to her work with the organization, Desiree also serves as a mentor to a Chicago Art School, providing guidance and support to young artists.
One of Desiree's most notable philanthropic efforts is her annual motivational speech to children in Georgia's foster system. She has also worked with kids in Nicaragua, frequently visits schools, and serves as a youth counselor for middle and high school girls at a Christian youth camp. Furthermore, Desiree has fostered dogs for SQ Rescue and has participated in numerous charity walks, as well as worked in food pantries.
Desiree's professional career in acting has been marked by several notable roles. Her breakout role came when she starred in Lifetime's "A Country Christmas Story" opposite Dolly Parton, where she sang several soundtracks for the movie. She then landed a recurring role in Spielberg/TNT's season four of "Falling Skies," working alongside Will Patton and Noah Wyle. ABC Studios hired her to play Dawn in a comedy sitcom pilot with Chevy Chase and Beverly DeAngelo, and she was later tapped as a lead in Lionsgate/OWN's Greenleaf, playing the series regular role of Sophia alongside Oprah Winfrey and Emmy winners Lynn Whitfield and Keith David. In addition to her work on Greenleaf, Desiree played a supporting role in the film "If You're Gone" and was a guest star on the hit show "The Resident" for Fox. Upcoming projects include "All Hail the Squash" and "The Diner".
When not working on set, Desiree enjoys singing and clothes design as side hobbies. Her ultimate mission is to inspire persistence in others and help them reach their goals, while also funding a trip to Togo to build water wells.
