Devi's innovative approach to the horror genre has been compared to a wide range of influences, including the silent film masterpieces of Buster Keaton, the graphic novels of EC Comics, and the distinctive style of Tim Burton, among others.
In 2007, Devi was one of only eight participants selected for the prestigious Directing Workshop for Women at the American Film Institute (AFI),where she went on to direct "Death in Charge", a film that continues to explore themes of life and death with a playful sense of irony.
When she's not creating her own horror films, Devi teaches a course on horror movies at the University of Notre Dame, sharing her knowledge and passion with the next generation of filmmakers.
Devi is also a featured director in author Greg Lamberson's book "Cheap Scares", a Bram Stoker award-nominated publication that showcases the work of the next wave of horror auteurs.
