Devorah Lynne Dishington, also known as "An American Mutt," is a multi-talented individual with a unique genetic background. Born in Orange County, California, she has been on the road since her early days, traversing the Western United States. With a mixed heritage of Chickasaw, Cherokee, Bohemian, Dutch, English, French, German, Iberian Peninsula, Irish, Lebanese, Scottish, Welsh, and African American roots, her appearance is not easily distinguishable.
Devorah has a passion for languages and has a keen ear for accents and dialects. She has worked with various casts, crews, and directors in the entertainment industry, honing her skills in acting, music, and writing. She is a proud member of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) and has a string endorsement contract.
Devorah is an accomplished musician, playing the bass, keyboard, and piano, and has experience working with various genres, including blues, jazz, rock, and pop. She has performed live and in the studio, and has even worked with the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
However, it was her experience watching Star Wars as a child that had the most significant impact on her life. She knew at that moment that she wanted to be an actress. This love for movies and acting led her to discover other passions, including swords, fencing, and stage combat. She has been training at the Orange Coast Fencing Academy and has even taught foil fencing to levels 1-3.
Devorah has a deep love for animals and has extensive experience working with them. She also enjoys sailing and has owned a 20-foot sailboat for several years. Despite having dyslexia, she has learned to adapt and has developed strategies to overcome her disability.
Devorah is a creative individual who writes constantly, with ideas surfacing non-stop. She has worked on various projects, including back stories, lyrics, music, novels, plays, poems, and scripts. She has also worked as a pirate and Lady's Maid at the Original Southern California Renaissance Pleasure Faire and has reprised her role as Elizabethan Lady Loki.
In addition to her acting and musical talents, Devorah has a mission to bring more Native representation into the entertainment industry, helping to break down barriers and bring awareness to the often-overlooked Native American community. She is a self-motivated and self-starting individual who is always looking to explore new creative avenues and express herself in new and exciting ways.
