Born and raised in the vibrant town of Española, northern New Mexico, Mr. López brings a unique blend of cultural skills and enthusiasm to his work, earning him respect and rapport in the communities he serves.
After graduating with honors from the University of New Mexico's esteemed Media Arts Program, Mr. López was accepted into the prestigious New Mexico Filmmakers Intensive program, further refining his craft by completing the Screenwriting Track from the College of Santa Fe under the guidance of renowned screenwriter Tom Musca.
In 2010, Mr. López made a significant impact with the award-winning short film "Through Their Eyes," a powerful component of a domestic violence prevention campaign that shed light on the devastating effects of domestic violence on children. Later that year, he was selected to participate in Robert Redford's esteemed Milagros de Los Luceros Writing Program, where he studied under the acclaimed Joan Tewkesbury.
As a co-writer and director, Mr. López brought his unique vision to "Blaze You Out," which won the Best Dramatic Feature Film award at the Albuquerque Film and Media Experience and was released by LIONSGATE in 2013. This intensely layered story, rooted in northern New Mexican tradition and pop culture, showcases Mr. López's skill in crafting complex characters and narratives.
As an actor, Mr. Lopez has appeared in a variety of feature films and television series, including the upcoming "ShotCaller" starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, "New York Prison Break: The Seduction of Joyce Mitchell," Robert Rodriguez's "From Dusk til Dawn" (the Series),Warner Bros.' "Terminator: Salvation," and "Love Ranch" directed by Taylor Hackford. His extensive acting credits also include "Spinners," "American Dream," David S. Greathouse's "Living Hell (Organism)," "Made in New Mexico," and "Urban Justice" opposite Steven Seagal.
