Biography

Dietz Werner, a renowned actor, was born in Waiblingen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. His grandfather, Caspar Alberti, was an actor in Nuremberg, and this early exposure to the performing arts had a profound impact on Dietz Werner's life.

As a child, he would often imitate the people around him, including the local pharmacist, which sometimes caused difficulties for his family when they needed medication from the only pharmacy in town. However, his parents recognized his artistic talents and encouraged him to pursue his passion for acting.

Dietz Werner attended the Rudolf Steiner School, where his artistic gifts were nurtured, and his desire to become an actor grew. After completing his three-year training in Stuttgart, he landed his first engagement in Lueneburg.

He went on to have a long and successful career at the Wuerttemberg national theatre in Stuttgart, playing a wide range of roles from classical to modern, large and small. It was during this time that he caught the attention of author Felix Huby, who was inspired to create the character of Superintendent Bientzle, a role that Dietz Werner would go on to play for many years.

Since 1990, Dietz Werner has appeared in numerous episodes of the popular German television series "Tatort - Superintendent Bientzle," and he has also received various television offers. However, he has remained committed to his work in the theatre, performing in productions such as "Goetz of Berlichingen" at the original setting in Jagsthausen and Moliere's "The Miser" in his native Swabian dialect.

In addition to his theatrical work, Dietz Werner has also appeared in musicals, including the premiere of "Ludwig II" in Fuessen/Bavaria, where he played composer Richard Wagner in his best Saxonian dialect.

Currently, Dietz Werner is performing onstage in Stuttgart at the "Komoedie im Marquardt" with Walter Schultheiss in Felix Huby's play "Gruess Gott Herr Minischter" until March 2005. He lives with his wife, Hannah, in Stuttgart.
