Dillon Freasier's remarkable Hollywood journey began with a chance encounter between a speeding ticket and a casting director. The director, impressed by the young boy's charm, decided to cast him in Paul Thomas Anderson's critically acclaimed film There Will Be Blood (2007). However, Freasier's mother, also a police officer, was initially hesitant to let her son appear in a movie, especially alongside Daniel Day-Lewis, a renowned actor known for his intense performances.
To alleviate her concerns, the casting director sent her a copy of Day-Lewis's film Gangs of New York (2002),which left her appalled by the actor's intense portrayal. The film's team then sent another film, The Age of Innocence (1993),showcasing Day-Lewis in a more refined and gentlemanly role. This convinced Freasier's mother to allow her son to join the project.
As an elementary student in West Texas with no prior acting experience, Freasier was an unexpected yet perfect choice for the role of HW Plainview, the adopted son of oilman Daniel Plainview. Despite being unfamiliar with acting in front of cameras, particularly alongside one of the most respected actors of all time, Freasier impressed audiences with his quiet, magnetic, and intelligent presence.
Throughout the film, Freasier's character captivated audiences with his timing and expressions, conveying emotions without sound. His performance earned him nominations for Best Young Actor in the Young Artist Awards and the Online Film & Television Association. Although not much is known about Freasier's current whereabouts or profession, many fans eagerly await his return to the big screen.
