Biography

Born in Rabat, the actor received a strict religious education prior to receiving modern education at the Mohammedia School, where he completed his primary studies. He then pursued secondary studies at the Mohamed V high school in Rabat, simultaneously working as a teacher of the Arabic language. This early exposure to education and language laid the foundation for his future endeavors.

As he grew older, the actor's interest in theater began to take shape, and he started working with the Al Mâamora theater company in 1948. He later entered a theater school under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth, where he was directed by esteemed professionals such as André Voisin, Charles Le Nick, Pierre Richy, and Abdellah Chekroun. This training enabled him to hone his craft and develop a strong foundation in the art of acting.

The actor's talent and dedication did not go unnoticed, as he quickly distinguished himself in the National Theater Troupe founded in 1953. He also explored other creative outlets, including film, radio, television, and voice dubbing.

Following Moroccan independence, the actor played an active role in shaping the country's theater scene, teaching from 1956 to 1958 the art of rhetoric and eloquence at the Institute of Theatrical Research. His passion for the arts and his commitment to education continued to guide him throughout his career.

In 1982, his performance in 'The Black Stallion' earned him international recognition, cementing his status as a talented actor. He continued to impress audiences with his versatility, appearing in a range of films, including 'Allan Quatermain and the City of Lost Gold' in 1986.

The actor's impressive filmography also includes notable roles in Moroccan films such as 'Brahim Yach?' by Nabil Lahlou (1982) and 'Caftan d'amour' by Moumen Smihi (1988). His final film appearance was in 'The Riders of Glory' by Souheil Ben Barka in 1990.

Throughout his illustrious career, the actor remained committed to his craft, constantly seeking new challenges and opportunities to grow as an artist. His legacy continues to inspire and influence generations of actors and theater enthusiasts alike.
